SACRAMENTO-

Deputies are investigating a shooting that happened during  a home invasion overnight in the Arden Arcade area.

Around 3:30 a.m. at a home off Glenwood Road, the homeowner said a person tried to break into the home.

Sacramento County Sheriffs deputies say the man pulled out a gun when the homeowner confronted him. At that point, deputies say, the two wrestled over the weapon, and the homeowner was able to get the gun and shot the man.

When deputies arrived, they found the suspect wounded in a neighbor's front yard.

He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

A substantial amount of marijuana was found inside the home, which investigators suspect was the reason for the break-in.

Narcotics detectives are also investigating this situation.
