Man Wanted for Burglary, Car Theft and Attempted Officer Assault

Roseville Police arrested 61-year-old Daniel Rosario after a hours-long manhunt Friday. Rosario is under suspicion of  burglary, car theft and attempted assault on an officer.

Early Friday morning, police responded to a burglary at an apartment complex off Vallejo Avenue and Junction Boulevard.

The initial call reported a man breaking into an apartment, and stealing a white VW Beetle.

While heading to the scene, officers encountered the stolen car. When confronted by the officers, the suspect allegedly aimed the car at them.

Police opened fire as the suspect took off. It is unclear if he was injured at the time.

Shortly after, police found the stolen VW abandoned near Satwell Road and Hemphill Way. They searched the neighborhood, but there was no sign of the suspect.

After the initial investigation of the incident, police were able to positively identify the suspect as Rosario.

Rosario was arrested just after 10 a.m. in Roseville.
