A Carmichael neighborhood east of American River College is terrified after the second home invasion in the span of a few months.

"Yeah a little disconcerting for this neighborhood, you know, it's a Carmichael neighborhood," neighbor Chris Hanson said.

Police say a man broke into a home on Hixon Circle on Nov. 7, but was scared off by an adult and child inside.

"You know, keep your eyes open for any unusual people that are in the neighborhood," Hanson said. He's lived on Hixon for the last 12 years.

On Aug. 31, police say a man took a young girl from a home along nearby Adelaide Way. She was let go just minutes later.

Seeing sketches of both suspects, neighbors believe they may be the same man, but the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department says there are more differences between the two.

Detectives say the latest break-in is not considered to be a kidnapping, and there's no physical evidence linking the two cases. Still, investigators aren't completely ruling out a possible connection.
