Friends, family and the FOX40 community are mourning the loss of a Sacramento furniture, and tv, icon.

Tom LaBrie owned LaBrie’s Waterbed Warehouse in Sacramento. He sponsored a late-night movie show on channel 40 in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The show, which aired in the overnight hours, featured LaBrie before and after movies. He would sometimes interview guests on the set.

We are told by friends, LaBrie passed away recently at his Carmichael home. We are told he did not leave any family behind.

There is a memorial planned for Saturday, January 10.

Below is a segment from Labrie’s show where he showed off some of the station’s behind-the-scenes equipment.
