A young boy, around 10 years old, was found alone Sunday morning on a chicken ranch in rural Placer County. Later in the day, after media reports aired, the boy's parents were located.

The boy gave officials his name, and stayed with Child Protective Services as Placer County Sheriff's deputies worked to find his parents.

FOX40 was told the boy told the chicken ranch employee he was looking for a gift for his mother.

The boy's parents were located Sunday evening.
