RIVERBANK-

An early Wednesday morning shooting in Riverbank injured a 37-year-old man and deputies are trying to piece together why it happened.

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputies said it happened on Oak Drive in Riverbank.

“Well, my daughter came and woke me up and said there was a shooting and there were a lot of policemen over across the street,” Susan Shelton, a neighbor, explained.

Neighbors said the shooting has left them on edge. In this normally quiet neighborhood, they’re left wondering what led to the violence.

At the time of publication, deputies have not said why the shooting happened, and what condition the victim had been in.

They did confirm he was shot in his upper body and that investigators remained at this home for much of Wednesday morning collecting evidence.
