Shots were reportedly fired at a CHP officer while he was doing a routine traffic stop. The truck was chased down I-80, and stopped a short time later and searched .

Friday morning, the CHP officer pulled over a vehicle for a routine traffic stop along Nevada Street near I-80 in the Auburn area.

At some point during the stop, CHP says the officer reported multiple shots were fired out of a passing box truck at the officer. At this time, it appears the vehicle that was pulled over is not connected to the passing truck.

Officers in the area searched for the box truck as it drove south on I-80.

It was finally stopped in Rocklin, and searched by responding officers. Initial reports indicate no weapon has been found. CHP says two people in the truck are cooperating.
