A 1,000-foot water slide is coming to the streets of Sacramento. The organization, Slide the City, has posted on their calendar they will be coming to Sacramento on June 13.

Besides the giant vinyl water slide, the day-long event includes music, food and drinks, according to their website.

Slide the City holds slip-and-slide parties in cities around the country, and tried to hold an event in LA last year.

The LA event was sold out online, but city officials denied the event’s permit request. After it was announced the slide was coming to LA, there was an online petition citing it was irresponsible to hold such an event during a drought.

Slide the City told last year the slide was expected to use 15,000 to 20,000 gallons of water, that would be recycled and properly disposed of.

Tickets range from $15 to $60 depending on how many times a person wants to go down the 3-football-fields-long slide.

FOX40 has reached out to the City of Sacramento, and they say no one has talked to event services about the June event.
