Macy's has picked the site of the former Campbell's Soup plant in South Sacramento to house a new distribution and fulfillment center.

According to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, the retail giant is investing $10.5 million in the space and bringing 175 full-time equivalent jobs - including at least 100 full-time positions.

The development is expected to revitalize the Franklin Boulevard neighborhood where the facility sits.

The Board of Supervisors will look at the project at a meeting on Jan. 27.

The new Macy's facility would distribute items to area stores and ship to online customers.

Campbell's Soup closed the plant in the summer of 2013.
