An employee of the Sacramento Police Department was arrested and fired after just a month on the job. Officers say 20-year-old Ilaya Prozorov was impersonating an officer.

Prozorov is a non-sworn probationary employee, and was employed as a civilian 'Community Service Officer.'

According to the department, he graduated from their recruit academy in December and was currently in field training.

He is being accused of impersonating a peace officer, while on duty. However, the Sacramento Police Department did not offer more details about what that entailed.

Prozorov was arrested in West Sacramento.

A criminal and internal investigation is underway.
