A house fire lead firefighters to an illegal marijuana grow in Elk Grove.


An early morning fire in a home on Spring Ridge Way in Elk Grove lead investigators to an illegal marijuana grow.

The Cosumnes Fire Department says electrical wiring providing electricity to the marijuana grow caused the Thursday morning fire.

The Elk Grove Police Department were issued a search warrant and found two rooms with marijuana plants growing inside.

Police spokesperson Chris Trim says the grow was illegal both in size and lack of growing credentials.

Four people have been detained and interviewed by police; so far, no arrests have been made.
