A man accused of shooting and robbing a woman in a Stockton Costco parking lot is now in custody, thanks to several tips. Christopher Tolbert, 30, was arrested at a hotel in Lodi Thursday evening.

Last month, a woman in her 50s put her purse in her car while loading her purchases, when a man grabbed it. When she confronted the man, police say he shot her.

Officers now say that man was Tolbert. They told FOX40 they received several anonymous tips about the crime, and identified Tolbert as a suspect.

At the time of the crime, anonymous donors offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in this case. Police tell FOX40 the reward money will be paid out after someone is found guilty of this robbery and shooting.

Tolbert is in the San Joaquin County Jail facing assault and robbery charges.

The woman’s injury was not considered life threatening, and she is expected to be OK.
