SACRAMENTO-

If Sac State’s men’s basketball team wins their game tonight in Southern Utah, or their game Saturday, they will host the Big Sky Conference Tournament next week. But it will not exactly be on their “home court.”

In fact, if California State University Sacramento hosts the tournament, they will transform the student recreation center, called ‘The WELL’ into a basketball court.

The team’s current gym, called ‘The Nest,’ seats only 1,100 fans. Meanwhile, the proposed changes to ‘The WELL’ could make it seat up to 2,700 fans.

Those in charge of the transformation told FOX40 they are not underestimating the enormity of this undertaking.

Sac State only needs to win one of their final two games this week to host the tournament, and if they do, work on the temporary arena site could start Sunday morning.
