A man is dead and a woman is being treated for gunshot wounds after being found along a frontage road in Acampo. Around 2:30 Tuesday morning, a woman called for help from along the Highway 99 frontage road near Spiess Road.

Deputies struggled to find the woman's location at first, and needed to "ping" her phone to find her. When they did, San Joaquin County Sheriff's deputies found a man dead from a gunshot wound, and the woman was  found with bullet wounds and rushed to the hospital.

Investigators believe the victims were in a vehicle with the shooter. However, deputies have not released any information about who the suspect is. They only say the person was seen driving a smaller, compact 4-door, dark-colored car.

Deputies identified the male victim as 36-year-old Joshua Harrison, of Acampo.

The female victim has serious injuries, and is currently receiving medical attention.
