Sacramento Police are investigating the death of a man, whose body was found under the Howe Avenue bridge.

The body of Quincey Lacey was found by a passerby about 12 hours after officers heard reports of shots fired in the area.

Lacey's body was in a spot well-known for its homeless camps, but he was not homeless.

"They're basically thinking that my brother was just some guy living on the river... that he had no family and everything else. But that's not true," Lacey's brother, Nick, told FOX40. "He has a huge family. We all love this man."

Lacey's family says he was not just another drifter on the river, but a family man who spent lots of time with his nieces and nephews.

The knew he spent time at those homeless camps, that he sometimes sought out that setting, and the drinking that comes with it.

But a far cry from a life of crime, they say, and the risks that come with that.

Lacey's family has launched a GoFundMe campaign for his funeral expenses.
