A Citrus Heights widow had her car burglarized at a cemetery Easter Sunday, and she's now missing an irreplaceable memento.

Betty Lara used to love playing golf with her late husband, Larry. They were high school sweethearts, married for 49 years.

They played golf together every week until he died of leukemia four years ago.

"I know I'm going to see him again, and not just in my dreams," she said.

Betty visited his grave at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Elk Grove on Easter Sunday - Larry's birthday.

"I get a little bit of peace because I can talk to a piece of ground. I talk to a piece of ground and tell (Larry) I love him," Betty said.

When she got back to her car, she saw that it had been broken into and her purse taken.

But she only wants one thing back - Larry's Sacred Heart of Jesus medal.

"When I was a young girl, 13, my brother gave that to me as a confirmation present," she said. She had then given it to Larry years ago, before he left for Vietnam.

Betty hopes the person who took it has a change of heart and brings the medal back.

Anyone with information about the medal is asked to contact the Citrus Heights Police Department.
