Caltrans will be fully closing Highway 12 from Interstate 5 to Highway 160 in Sacramento and San Joaquin County this weekend.

The closure will last from Friday, April 10 at 10 p.m. to Monday, April 13 at 5 a.m.

The highway will be shut down in order to perform repairs on the Mokelumne River Bridge.

Detours will be created from Highway 160 to Walnut Grove Road, and then to I-5. Caltrans recommends drivers consider Interstate 80 and I-5 as alternate routes.

The 55-hour closure is part of the $6.8 million Mokelumne River Bridge Project, expected to be completed by November 2015.
