Sacramento police officers investigated a fatal car crash at Florin Perkins and Elder Creek Road on Sunday night.

Police believe a white sedan that was traveling eastbound on Elder Creek Road at high speeds ran a red light and struck a truck that was making a left turn in the intersection.

A third vehicle was also involved in the crash.

Police confirmed that one person died in the crash. Two more people were taken to area hospitals where one was listed in critical condition.

Police had lanes in the area blocked off on Sunday night and drivers were urged to avoid the area.
