Man in Custody After 14-Hour Standoff in Citrus Heights

A man is in custody after a standoff in Citrus Heights that lasted about 14 hours.

Citrus Heights police surrounded a home Thursday morning responding to reports of a man barricaded inside.

That man  has been identified by his daughter as David Wilt.

According to police, officers got reports of a domestic violence incident shortly after 6:30 a.m. A woman was able to leave the home, but a man was still inside -- refusing to come out.

The home is on Trenton Way, near Arlington Heights Elementary School.

The standoff ended after hours when the man was safely taken into custody,

Trenton Way will be re-opened shortly.
