Wrong-Way Crash in Yolo County Kills Four

Three family members are dead after a wrong-way crash in Yolo County on Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A CHP officer spotted the wrong-way driver traveling southbound in northbound lanes of Interstate 505 about 10:30 p.m.

The officer activated his emergency lights, notified dispatch and attempted to overtake the wrong-way driver.

The wrong-way vehicle struck a car head-on. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other car had four occupants. The mother and two kids were killed. The father survived the crash.

The names of the deceased have not been released.

Investigators are still working to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
