A shooting Thursday morning near Franklin Boulevard and Armadale Way prompted the nearby Samuel Jackman Middle School to be put on lockdown.

The victim was said to be a man with a gunshot wound to the back. The man was in a car with three other people when the shooting happened.

"Just opened fire on the car. Bullet whizzed by my ear," witness Al Gross said. "I popped the clutch and got the heck out of there."

The lockdown was eventually lifted Thursday afternoon when the gunman could not be found.
