Mothers in crisis had the chance to celebrate Mother's Day in Sacramento on Thursday with a special delivery.

"It could be anything from fingernail polish to moisturizer a mask anything that will spoil the mom," said Amy Sugimoto with WEAVE.

More than 6,000 donations were dropped off by Two Men and a Truck at WEAVEWorks in Sacramento this morning.

The 8th annual event "Movers for Moms" is designed to make moms, escaping domestic violence, feel loved this Mother's Day.

"It makes me feel really good because not only are we giving a special Mother's Day, but we are giving their kids the supplies to help their mom feel special," Sammie Thach, with Two Men and a Truck, said.

Along with picking out new clothes, the women were given makeovers courtesy of Paul Mitchell.

WEAVE, or Women Escaping A Violent Environment, said 82 percent of women fleeing violence don't have time to pack.

"You know, when you're in danger, and you need to escape your abuser, and you need to get out of your home, you literally get your children, potentially an animal, and you get out," Sugimoto said.

If you missed your chance to donate, you can come to WEAVEWorks at 2401 Arden and drop off any items you wish to donate. All donations go to help women in crisis.
