Standoff in Sacramento County Over, Suspect Surrenders

RANCHO CORDOVA-

A stabbing suspect surrendered peacefully after a brief standoff on Tuesday afternoon at a Sacramento County home.

A SWAT team surrounded the residence on Caldera Way near Mirada Street, just outside Rancho Cordova city limits, where a suspect was barricaded inside. Neighbors were asked to shelter in place during the standoff.

A woman in her 40s was stabbed and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Lisa Bowman with the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department.

The stabbing suspect is a family member and was barricaded inside the home.
