Pedestrians and cyclists met at City Hall on Tuesday afternoon in hopes to redefine where cyclists can ride on the sidewalk within the city limits.

Downtown resident Hilary Abramson was standing on the sidewalk last year when she was hit by a bicycle. She was hospitalized.

Abramson said she is unhappy with the current city ordinance in place which indicates cyclists can be fined $5 for riding on the sidewalk. She said that's not nearly enough consequence.

Council sent staff back to make minor changes before continuing the discussion later in the summer.
