Deputies are investigating reports of an unknown man coming onto Pine Top Montessori School grounds and telling employees they were teaching children how to become terrorists.

The man reportedly entered school grounds Monday morning.  Staff said he had contacted them asking what nationalities were present at the school. The male claimed that “students were being taught how to join ISIS and that Chinese people are terrorists,” according to a press release from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.

When the man returned to his car, school employees called the sheriff’s office.

After calling deputies, the man re-approached the front door of the school and found it locked. He knocked and asked to enter, but the staff refused.

The man returned to his vehicle and drove away. When deputies arrived, the man was gone.

It is not believed that any students came into contact with the man.

The man is described as white with gray hair, about 6 feet tall with an average build and about 55 years old. He was last seen driving a white Volvo sedan.

Anyone who has information regarding this person or vehicle is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at (530) 621-5655.
