A man was arrested by Madera Police Sunday evening for allegedly slashing the tires of four cars.

Police say William Smith used a knife to puncture the tires of the four cars near Madera High School North Campus. When confronted by a someone, William threatened them and ran from police. He was found in a nearby backyard.

It appears as if William slashed tires at random and did not know the victims, investigators said.
