Fifteen homes on Large Oak Court in North Highlands were evacuated just after noon Monday because of a ruptured gas line.

According to Sacramento Metro Fire Department, a plumbing company attempting to snake a sewage line punctured the half-inch gas line.

Homes on the court were immediately evacuated, while PG&E worked to stop the leak.

Nobody was injured and residents were allowed to return to their homes just after 1:30 p.m.

The road will remain closed while further work is completed.
