A second bat with rabies has been found in the area of Bogue Road, Lonely Oak Street and Crystal Creek Lane in Yuba City.

Wednesday, July 27, a pet cat was found next to a dead bat in a garage. It is believed that the cat interacted with the bat prior to its death.

The bat was collected and tested by the Sutter County health Department Laboratory for rabies testing and it tested positive for the disease.

The cat has been placed in a six month mandated quarantine to confirm its health. Once the cat is cleared it will be returned to its owners.
