Mandatory evacuations were lifted Thursday for 800 homes along the east side of the Rocky Fire.

However, Cal Fire officials said the fire fight is far from over.

About 4,000 homes remain under mandatory evacuation as crews battled rising temperatures Thursday afternoon.

"We added 200 firefighters overnight" Cal Fire spokesperson Alyssa Smith told FOX40. "Crews are working on building the containment line... we have the national guard here. There is still a lot of work to do here."

The Rocky Fire was 40 percent contained Thursday. Smith tells FOX40 crews are focusing on the West side of the Rocky fire and keeping a close eye on warm temperatures in the forecast.
