One man is being detained at Sacramento Police headquarters after the dead body of a woman was found in Natomas Thursday night.

Calls about a fight brought investigators out to the 1300 block of Trail End Way around 7:30 p.m..

While neighbors who called into the FOX40 newsroom reported a woman's body being found buried in the backyard of a home on their street, police would not confirm or deny those accounts.

They did say a number of witnesses have also been brought down to headquarters for questioning and that they wanted to limit what details were released to protect the early stages of the investigation.

Officers were able to offer folks in the area some bit of comfort, despite the troubling find.

"We don't believe this is a random act," said Sergeant Doug Morse. "There is not a public search for a suspect at this time."

Morse also said the man being detained was known in the area and was related to the house where the body was found, but couldn't say what the man's relationship might be to the deceased.

He also couldn't comment on how the woman found was killed.
