A tip from an alert citizen led to the arrest of a suspected serial arsonist, according to Fairfield police.
On Wednesday, Fairfield police and fire were called to five separate fires in the area of Oliver Road, Beck Avenue and Woolner Avenue. Of the five fires, three were set in dumpsters and two were vegetation fires.
The fifth fire, which was set on the Linear Trail near Beck Avenue, a witness reported to police seeing a suspicious person standing and watching the fire.
