LANCASTER, Calif. (AP) —

Authorities say a body found in the Southern California high desert was that of a San Diego County man who was reported missing nearly a month ago.

Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Cosby says 76-year-old Nickolaos Christidis was found Saturday morning near Lake Los Angeles in the Antelope Valley. His body was located about ¾ miles from where his car was found Wednesday by a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy during his patrol.

The car was stuck in soft sand off a rural road.

Christidis was last seen July 22 in his hometown of Oceanside.

Cosby said there was no indication of foul play in his death.
