A paddle boarder believed missing for nearly a week after disappearing in South Lake Tahoe has been found alive in Missouri.

Zbigniew “Zibi” Moryn fell off his paddle board Aug. 12 when a boat passed him too fast, creating a wake. According to South Lake Tahoe Police, Moryn’s board was blown away by the wind, and he was not wearing a life jacket.

Moryn returned the paddle to the business he rented it from and left, investigators said.

Detectives followed up on clues found on Moryn’s GoPro camera and eventually tracked down his traveling partner, Ed Berger, who told them Moryn had left for Missouri.

Finally, officials in Missouri were able to confirm that Moryn was in their state.

Police say they will mail Moryn his GoPro.
