One Dead, Several Injured After Car Crash on Alta Arden

SACRAMENTO --

One person is dead and multiple people are injured after a major car crash Sunday afternoon in Sacramento.

The crash, involving multiple vehicles, happened approximately 12:30 p.m. near Wyda Way and Alta Arden Expressway.

According to the CHP, a silver Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling southbound on Wyda Way when it failed to stop at a stop sign.  The Hyundai stuck a silver Chrysler Town and Country, which was headed westbound on Alta Arden.

The driver of the Chrysler lost control of the vehicle and hit a gold Toyota Sienna that was traveling eastbound.

Seven people were riding in the Chrysler. One man in the vehicle was pronounced dead, one girl was transported to UC Davis Medical Center in critical condition and the five other people were transported to local hospitals with varying injuries.

The female driver of the Toyota was not injured. The female driver of the Hyundai was transported to UC Davis Medical Center.
