John Berry knew something was amiss when he came home and saw the light was on.

"We pulled into the driveway. I noticed my slider in the pool table room was cracked open," Berry said.

It only got more strange from there.

"This kid comes walking out of my utility room. I asked him, 'What are you doing in my house?'" Berry told FOX40.

The young man, later identified as 19-year-old Tryston Alvarez-Ross, apparently told Berry that he was Jesus.

The Berrys restrained Alvarez-Ross until El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies could show up to arrest and book him on burglary charges.

Berry said Alvarez-Ross was also wearing his wife's pants

When the Berrys walked through their Placerville home of six years, they saw the front window was shattered. Their tequila bottle had been opened, meat from their Crock-Pot was taken, important documents were removed from their hiding spot and their dog, Oscar, was locked in the basement.

The most bizarre, disgusting discovery was in the bath tub.

"There was water, poop and he shaved himself, which was absolutely disgusting," Berry said.

Understandably disgusted, the Berrys refuse to shower in their own bathroom. Meanwhile, Alvarez-Ross admitted to the whole thing Friday.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office does not allow cameras inside its jail, but Alvarez-Ross told FOX40:

"I was not on drugs. I was lost. I had just gotten out of jail and wandered down the street. I drank tequila, I found the safe and what I did in the bathtub took me three seconds. I am not really sorry. I don't know why I did it, I just did."

Alvarez-Ross was previously booked on unrelated drug and burglary charges, and was released Wednesday. He added that he has no reason to do it again.

"I'm still mad. I can't sleep very well," Berry said. "I have been here six years, thinking nothing like this would ever happen to me."
