Man And Juvenile Arrested On Kidnapping Charges

Stockton police arrested Wes Montgomery, 31, and a 16-year-old male juvenile on kidnapping and other felony charges after a man asks for help at a bank.

On Friday around 4:45 p.m., a 48-year-old man from Elk Grove walked into a Downtown Stockton Wells Fargo Bank and said he had been kidnapped and pistol whipped. He said the suspects sent him into the bank to withdraw a large amount of money.

Officer responded to the scene quickly and located two suspects attempting to run away. They also found a loaded handgun in the suspects’ vehicle.

The victim told officers that his girlfriend, 22, and others were in danger at a home in the 1400 block of E. Poplar Street.

SWAT responded along with the Crisis Negotiation Team. Several people came out of the apartment unharmed, including the victim’s girlfriend.

An adult man, Toby Ford, also came out of the apartment and was arrested on an unrelated warrant.
