A female student fought off a stranger who tried to kiss her in a campus elevator on Tuesday, according to campus police.

The Sacrament State Police Department said the student entered a parking garage elevator and she was followed by a man about sometime between 2:30 and 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The suspect said “hello” to the victim and asked the student to push the button for the fifth floor, police said. There were no other occupants on the elevator.

When the elevator doors closed, the suspect used his bike to block the door, grabbed the student and tried to kiss her, police said. She resisted and he tried two more times to kiss her but was unsuccessful.

When the elevator door opened, the student pushed past the suspect.

The suspect is described as about 25 years old, with black hair cut in a short buzz style, he had a short beard and was wearing a black T-shirt. He had a mountain bike with green rims.
