When Destiny Silva saw the devastation in Calaveras and Amador counties on Facebook she knew she had to do something.

"She came to me and said she really wanted to help in anyway possible," said Denair High School Principal Alicia Myers.

Silva says she has friends in the foothills area where homes have been lost and that the people in the valley are very generous.

"It's just horrible, and so sad that they have to go through all this we may be far away but we're only an hour away," said Silva.

Both Denair High School and Denair Middle School are accepting donations both monetary and supply-wise until Friday afternoon.

Denair Middle School principal Travis Manley will be personally driving up the money and supplies donated over that time Friday evening to San Andreas and in Valley Springs.

If you would like to donate please stop by either school's main office from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and until 3 p.m. on Friday.
