Metro firefighters say a dog died Wednesday morning in a Rancho Cordova duplex fire.

Crews responded mid-morning to Reba Court, near the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School.

Both sides of the duplex were damaged, and no one was injured. Seven people lived in the duplex, and two dogs were able to escape.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear, but investigators have not ruled out an electrical cause.
