Stockton Woman Arrested for Arson, Attempted Homicide

The Stockton Police arrested a female suspect for attempted homicide and arson when she set an a residence ablaze early Saturday morning, according to the Stockton Police Department.

The suspect, 29-year-old Lashanda Thompson who was later arrested in a hotel room, entered an apartment  in the 8600 block of Acapulco Way where three adults and one juvenile were sleeping upstairs. Thompson turned on all four burners of stove and left a pot of grease to heat up and ignite in an attempt to burn down the apartment.

The downstairs portion of the apartment caught fire, leaving no exit on the first floor. The victims were able to escape by jumping out of the second story window, assisted by Stockton Fire crews.

According to Stockton police, the suspect had been in a relationship with an adult female victim, and became upset that she had another girlfriend.
