CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives are searching for gunmen who killed a 15-year-old boy along a street in Carson.
Deputy Mike Barraza says the shooting happened Saturday afternoon as the boy and a female companion walked near Sepulveda and Avalon Boulevards.
The Los Angeles Times reports two males in hooded sweatshirts got out of a white or silver 4-door car and fired repeatedly at the boy. He died at the scene. The victim’s companion was unhurt.
Barraza says the gunmen jumped back in the car and sped off.
He says it appears the victim was specifically targeted.
