Doctors at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine performed a special surgery Tuesday.

A penguin from the Monterey Bay Aquarium had cataract surgery. Cataracts are a clouding in the eye, and can lead to blindness. The condition is very common, and typically happens with old age.

Vets did not go into how the surgery went, but said more updates would be posted Wednesday.
