Woman Arrested in South Lake Tahoe Machete Attack

A woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly attack a man with a machete in South Lake Tahoe.

According to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home on Brockway Avenue to investigate a reported assault. There, investigators say they found a man with several cuts on his arms.

The man told deputies he woke up to a pounding at the door. When he answered the man said a woman demanded money and attacked him with a machete. Investigators say the man was able to get away and shut the door.

Detectives later found the woman, later identified as 51-year-old Deborah Darr, on Tata Lane. She had also been injured in the fight.

Darr was booked on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. She has since been released on bond.
