A sample of unpasteurized apple juice from High Hill Ranch in the Apple Hill area has tested positive for E. coli, El Dorado County Public Health officials said Wednesday.

Juice from the ranch was hit with a voluntary recall on Oct. 23. According to health officials, at least seven people were sickened by juice bought on or after Oct. 6.

E. coli illness symptoms typically show up around 3 to 4 days after contamination. Most people who get sick recover within a week.
