Talk about a close call. One driver in San Jose avoided major injuries Friday afternoon after a huge piece of metal crashed through the windshield of his vehicle, according to fire fighters.

According to KRON4, fire crews reported that the accident happened southbound on 280, just north of Saratoga Avenue. The large piece of metal reportedly fell out of a truck and hit the road before crashing into the BMW.

The male driver escaped the incident with only minor scratches on his right arm, San Jose Fire Fighters said.
