CITRUS HEIGHTS —

A female suspect was arrested Dec. 18, weeks after she was caught on home surveillance video stealing packages and mail, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.

Donna Marie Sieverin, 39, was arrested at her home on Gold Run Avenue in Sacramento where officers found household packages, gifts and mail from over 10 victims. At the time of the arrest, Sieverin was on searchable probation stemming from a previous burglary offense.

After one mail theft victim caught Sieverin on video, subsequently releasing the video to media and police, Citrus Heights PD received several tips regarding the identity of the suspect.

Citrus Heights PD said the arrest has already solved two local theft cases and additional cases in Placer and Sacramento Counties could be added to that list. In the coming days, the department said it will contact the victims to return the stolen holiday packages before Christmas.

The police department said it is “actively utilizing ‘bait'” packages throughout the City to help capture suspects committing similar thefts.
