Thousands were left without power in Amador County after a car hit a power pole.

Towns affected include Volcano, Pioneer and Pine Grove.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known, nor was the condition of the driver.

Power was expected to be restored by 4 p.m. According to PG&E, the outage started shortly before 10 a.m.
