A local group is revitalizing a longtime Northern California landmark.

Volunteers with the Visions Task Force started the second phase of the Rio Linda Archway Renovation Project on Monday.

A brand new lighting system was put in and old Christmas lights were taken down.

Volunteers said they have been working on the arch for a long time and it is one of the main symbols of Rio Linda.

The original arches were built at seven locations in the commercial district of Marysville in 1911. The one in Rio Linda was donated to the city in 1926.
