Two lanes of northbound Interstate 5 at Seamas Avenue in Sacramento were closed for Caltrans workers early Monday.

Workers are “grinding” the roadway after the agency did some skid tests a few weeks ago. That stretch of I-5 is notorious for having bad accidents whenever the roadway is wet.

Crews hope the change will help tires stick to the roads in rainy conditions.
