Suspect Arrested After Allegedly Making Threatening Call to Elementary School

A woman was arrested after she allegedly made telephone threats to school employees at Ripona Elementary School Tuesday morning.

Karen Marie Escobar, 50, is facing a felony charge of threatening school employees.

Ripon police officers responded within minutes of the phone call to ensure the safety of staff and students.

Detectives were able to quickly identify the suspect as Escobar. Ripon detectives responded to Hayward where she was thought to be located. Escobar was taken into custody without incident.

She was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.
